Economy

#TeamMoretonBay is embarking on a 20-year journey to make our region bigger, bolder and brighter.

We are proudly home to 29,000 businesses and are committed to supporting their growth, resilience and innovation. The development of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) and Economic Development Action Plan (EDAP) demonstrates Council’s commitment to supporting local businesses as #TeamMoretonBay.

Regional Economic Development Strategy 2020-2041

The REDS provides the blueprint for Council, industry and the business community to collaboratively build a $40 billion economy by attracting and generating 100,000 new jobs for our region by 2041.

The Economic Development Action Plan 2017-2022

The five-year action plan for Moreton Bay’s economy outlines 29 key actions that focus on local business growth, ongoing investment attraction and the region’s next major infrastructure project, The Mill at Moreton Bay. It provides a much-needed platform and consolidated strategy to bring together existing and planned activities that support council's economic development focus.
